FISHING BOAT

Las costas malagueñas son fecundas; y sus pescadores, laboriosos. Barcos y botes son las herramientas de trabajo con las que fenicios, romanos y andalusíes arrancaron a estos caladeros su fruto durante milenios. Hoy, lubinas y doradas pueblan cañas y redes, manteles y sartenes, chiringuitos de madera y cocinas de pared encalada; y también los cimientos de este lienzo.

Malaga’s coasts are fertile and its fishermen are hard-working. Boats and rowboats are the working tools with which Phoenicians, Romans and Andalusians have been fishing these fishing grounds for millennia. Today, sea bass and gilthead sea bream populate rods and nets, tablecloths and frying pans, wooden beach bars and whitewashed wall kitchens; and also the foundations of this canvas.
