GERANIUMS

En esta obra la artista opta deliberadamente por olvidar el arrollador contexto del Balcón de Europa: su silueta ineludible, las playas que lo rodean o las masas que lo recorren. Es el detalle el que capta su atención y la abstrae del arrebatador entorno. Esa pequeña maceta de geranios que decora los arcos podría figurar en cualquier patio o balcón del pueblo. Es toda una declaración de intenciones: incluso ahí, donde el mundo entero se da cita, donde se multiplican las fotos y las stories, Nerja sigue siendo Nerja.

In this work the artist deliberately chooses to forget the overwhelming context of the Balcony of Europe: its inescapable silhouette, the beaches that surround it or the masses of people who cross it. It is the detail that captures her attention and abstracts her from the rapturous surroundings. That small pot of geraniums that decorates the arches could be found in any patio or balcony of the village. It is a declaration of intent: even there, where the whole world meets, where photos and stories multiply, Nerja is still Nerja.
