Los distintos planos de rocas, calles y monte están afectados por la luz unificadora y reveladora del sol mediterráneo. La estampa la enmarcan los montes que cercan este enclave milenario. El Cerro de la Puerta o el de la Bandera cubren el flanco este de Nerja y son unos más de los incontables accidentes de la costa andaluza; tan familiares al lugareño como los cortijos que los escalan o como las parejas de cernícalos que en ellos encuentran su hogar.

This oil on panel gives us a complete view of Nerja and its surroundings from the Balcon de Europa. The different planes of rocks, streets and mountains are affected by the unifying and revealing light of the Mediterranean sun. The picture is framed by the mountains that surround this ancient enclave. The Cerro de la Puerta or the Cerro de la Bandera cover the eastern flank of Nerja and are one more of the countless unevenness of the Andalusian coast; as familiar to the locals as the farmhouses that climb them or as the pairs of kestrels that find their home there.
