YELLOW ROSES

Esta obra forma parte de una serie que aborda la riqueza floral de Calahonda y Nerja, especialmente centrada en las rosas. Las rosas amarillas, vivaces y que tienen la fuerza de una llamarada, están destinadas a ser lanzadas a los pies de la Virgen del Carmen. Cuando la Patrona del Mar sale en procesión por las calles nerjeñas, la devoción local la llevará hasta su embarcación en la playa de la Torrecilla. En su travesía costera la acompañaran las miradas de todos los que tienen sus anhelos y temores depositados en la mar, hasta que la distancia les haga confundir el casco del bote con la cama de flores a los pies de la Virgen.

This painting is part of a series that deals with the floral richness of Calahonda and Nerja, especially focused on roses. The lively yellow roses, which have the strength of a flame, are destined to be thrown at the feet of the Virgen del Carmen. When the Patron Saint of the Sea goes in procession through the streets of Nerja, local devotion will take her to her boat on the Torrecilla beach. In its coastal crossing she will be accompanied by the eyes of all those who have their hopes and fears left in the sea, until the distance makes them confuse the hull of the boat with the flower bed at the feet of the Virgin.
