THE GRILLE

Esta obra, perteneciente a la colección de puertas andaluzas, nos señala hasta dónde podemos entrar y que la reja está cerrada. Los enrejados de hierro sirven como protección y decoración, pues el arte de la forja ha ido evolucionando hasta proporcionarnos estructuras, formas y figuras de singular belleza pero que, ante todo, cumplen una función de cierre, de frontera. Sin embargo, la artista también invita al ojo a ser indiscreto: a mirar más allá de la reja, a recoger alguno de los instantes de intimidad que se escurren por entre los barrotes.

This artwork, belonging to the collection of Andalusian gates, shows us how far we can enter and that the grille is closed. The iron trellises serve as protection and decoration, as the art of forging has evolved to provide us with structures, shapes and figures of singular beauty but which, above all, serve a function of closure, of frontier. However, the artist also invites the eye to be indiscreet: to look beyond the grille, to pick up some of the moments of intimacy that slip through the bars.
