Esta exposición aúna la obra de las pintoras María Garres Sánchez, doctoranda y profesora de la Universidad de Murcia con una beca de excelencia (FPU), y Rosa Cano Delgado, graduada en Bellas Artes con mención en grabado y estampación por la Universidad de Granada. Bajo un mismo interés, la pintura de paisaje del natural, las artistas han desarrollado durante los meses previos a la inauguración de esta muestra los cuadros que se pueden ver hoy en la Sala Municipal de exposiciones de Nerja.

Con esta exposición se pretende reenamorar al espectador con los maravillosos rincones de nuestra costa mediterránea y ofrecer un pedacito de Andalucía a casa.

Se trata de una pintura de paisaje figurativa y contemporánea que bebe de la pintura costumbrista del siglo XIX, quedándose con los entornos costeros e interiores característicos de los pueblos de la costa granadina y malagueña.

Una explosión de mediterraneidad en cada lienzo acompaña al visitante a través de un recorrido que comienza por la línea de costa, adentrándose en los pueblos blancos donde nos asomamos a los típicos patios, puertas y jardines.

La pintura del natural o plein air sólo la practican en la actualidad aquellos pintores que, al igual que Sorolla o Fortuny, tienen la osadía de dejar su estudio para enfrentarse a las inclemencias del tiempo buscando capturar la magia de un rincón cautivador.

Además, las autoras buscan que el espectador pueda apreciar el proceso pictórico, es decir, cómo están pintadas las obras, su textura, uso del color, la huella del pincel y, sobre todo, el amor que sienten por esta tierra, su luz, su sabor y sus playas.

This exhibition brings together the work of the painters work of the painters María Garres Sánchez, doctoral student and lecturer at the University of Murcia with a scholarship of excellence (FPU), and Rosa Cano Delgado, a graduate in Fine Arts with a major in engraving and printmaking from the University of Granada. Under the same interest, the natural landscape painting, the artists have developed during the months prior to the inauguration of this exhibition the paintings that can be seen today in the Municipal Exhibition Hall of Nerja.

The aim of this exhibition is to make the spectator fall in love again with the marvellous corners of our Mediterranean coast and to offer a little piece of Andalusia at home.

It is a figurative and contemporary landscape painting that draws from the 19th century genre painting, keeping the coastal and inland environments characteristic of the villages of the coast of Granada and Malaga.

An explosion of Mediterranean style in each canvas accompanies the visitor through a journey that begins along the coastline, going into the white villages where we can see the typical courtyards, doors and gardens.

Painting from life or plein air is currently only practiced by those painters who, like Sorolla or Fortuny, have the audacity to leave their studio to face the inclemency of the weather in order to capture the magic of a captivating corner.

In addition, the authors want the viewer to appreciate the pictorial process, that is, how the works are painted, their texture, use of colour, the brushstroke and, above all, the love they feel for this land, its light, its flavour and its beaches.
